Discover the Douro

“This was our first GRJ trip without stepping on a train (our choice). It was a lovely trip up and down the Douro, with a superb caring boat crew who looked after us with every consideration. Food was excellent but three full meals a day was more than necessary, I'm sure a light buffet at lunch would have been sufficient, with perhaps a three course lunch for those who wished to book. Information prior to the trip was inconsistent and therefore anxiety inducing. I had to phone GRJ on at least two occasions for clarification and always polite and helpful telephone staff would clarify that what had been sent to us in written form was not correct. It was therefore a relief to meet someone at Gatwick to direct us. After many trips with GRJ, the tour guide has always been good, this was the first exception. Information given was sometimes inaccurate and conflicting, with a somewhat patronising attitude to the age group on the tour. Her second in command was lovely, but understandably took a low profile

“This hoilday was very good only disappointed was the food in lisbon which was arranged in a restaurant this was very poor.the douro river cruise was very good and relaxing sailing along, only problem for me was going out on a tour and getting back 10 minutes before lunch or evening meal didn't feel we had enough time to have a shower and get ready felt rushed, but having said all this it's a lovely hoilday one not to be missed.pleased we have done this one.

Magnificent Morocco and Moorish Spain

“It was packed full of very enjoyable experiences, with wonderful train journeys, varied city scapes and landscapes and great company. Our tour manager Mike Neep coped extremely well overcoming all the difficulties that were thrown at him. Our one gripe was that there was no time to contemplate during our journey and a rest day would have been a great help in this respect. For this reason, we have only given the tour four stars. Overall superb!
