What’s included
Itinerary
We gather at London St Pancras International, where we meet our fellow travellers and Tour Manager ahead of this all-inclusive tour to the beautiful Austrian Alps. Journeying to Belgium in the Standard Premier Class on the Eurostar, we enjoy a light meal at our seats before arriving in Brussels. From here, we change to the First Class service to the German city of Cologne. Standing on the regal Rhine river, this grand city is dominated by its Gothic cathedral with two spires. We check into our hotel near the station and have our first dinner together as a group.

A very interesting and lovely holiday except for the tiring travel on the the way there and on return home spoiled by long travel hours through the European Football and the floods in Zurich. This was through no fault of Great Rail Journeys. Our Tour Guide Rick Jones was very good considering the problems encountered. Barbara & Martin WILLACY.

This holiday lived up to our expectations from start in London to arriving back in London. The main location in St Johann was perfect and quite and the Park Hotel could not do enough for you. We even had a Bar-B-Q on the Wednesday night - the staff enjoying it as much as we did. The photo shows the staff.

Great holiday and well organised even though had to be re-routed from Germany because of Euros. Rick the tour leader was very informative regarding the trains etc. Weather was super. Sunshine every day.

Great trip and great travel companions. The experience was marred by long train journeys and cancelled trains. Not GRJ fault.

Complete disaster. Wasted £3400. The hotel was basic in Austria, with outings poor and mostly by COACH! Some Great Railway journey! We did this kind of trip before "covid" to Switzerland which was great. Now they have cut back on quality. Never again. Very disappointed.

A well balanced variety of outings, although it would have been nice to have a little longer in Mayrhofen when we did the Zillertal railway trip. The hotel and its staff were great - helpful and friendly. Although there were delays with the trains on the return leg they were due to events further south and there was nothing anyone could have done to change things. Our tour manager was wonderful throughout!
