Itinerary

DAY1Flying to Madrid

Your holiday begins at London Heathrow, where you meet the Tour Manager and fellow travellers before boarding your flight to Madrid.

On arrival in the Spanish capital, we transfer to our centrally located hotel on the famous Gran Via for a two-night stay. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to discover the city. Just a short stroll from our hotel is Puerta del Sol, the heart of Madrid, and within easy reach are three of the city's world-renowned art galleries: the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the Prado and the Reina Sofi, home to impressive collections of 20th-century art.

This evening, you're free to dine independently. Madrid is full of tempting options, from stylish cafés serving an array of delicious tapas to traditional restaurants offering local specialties such as paella, regional wines and a variety of cured jamón.

DAY3Uncovering Seville on a guided tour

After breakfast, we journey by First Class rail into the heart of Andalucía, arriving in Seville for a two-night stay. After checking in to our hotel and some free time to enjoy lunch independently, we set out on an afternoon guided tour of the city.

Our tour takes us through the historic Santa Cruz district, a maze of narrow lanes and flower-filled courtyards, before reaching the centre of the Old Town to visit Seville's magnificent Gothic cathedral - the largest in Europe and an architectural masterpiece.

Afterwards, the rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. You might stroll along the banks of the Guadalquivir River or visit the Torre del Oro, a historic golden-hued tower that once served as a military watchtower and medieval prison. Alternatively, relax with a drink in one of the city's lively squares. This evening, we regroup for dinner at a local restaurant.

Another highlight is the Real Alcázar, or Royal Palace, a blend of Moorish, Mudejar and Christian design, with tranquil courtyards and intricate geometric tiles. Art lovers might prefer to visit the Museo de Bellas Artes, one of Spain's most important fine art galleries.

As the birthplace of tapas, Seville offers countless bars and restaurants where you can indulge in this beloved Spanish tradition independently tonight.
