Itinerary
Checking into our Norwich hotel in the mid-afternoon, our holiday begins as soon as you arrive with an optional city tour. The lively capital of Norfolk is a city brimming with cultural delights and a warm, inviting atmosphere which we discover with our guide. Strolling through the Old Town, we learn some of the city's fascinating history and see the magnificent Anglo-Norman cathedral that dominates its skyline. The streets and open squares reveal museums, medieval churches, public gardens, and other attractions.
Alternatively, you could choose to check in later this afternoon and explore the city at your own pace. Wandering the cobbled streets, you'll uncover a vibrant arts scene, bustling markets, and a rich literary heritage. In the evening, we gather as a group for dinner at the hotel.

It was a very good tour, with something for everyone. All arrangements went smoothly, and we had an excellent driver - both safe and well informed.

A well organised holiday with a good variety of interesting sites visited. The George Hotel was comfortable, the staff were very helpful and the food was good too! Simon, the coach driver, was a mine of useful information and the whole holiday was professionally managed by Ken - to both of whom many thanks. As travelling to Norwich on a Sunday by rail would have involved at least one change from Kings Cross, with no direct services from Liverpool Street, may I suggest that consideration be given to starting the holiday on either Saturday or Monday. Never having previously visited Norwich I was quite amazed by its historical aspects explained during the walking tour; if half a day of "free time" could be incorporated this would allow further exploration of this highly interesting city. This was our seventh GRJ holiday, so no complaints!
