But Perth is also a cultural hub with a thriving arts scene and a blossoming foodie community. The city is likely to change between visits, so take your snapshots while you're there, these memories are truly unique. Alternatively, choose our optional excursion to Rottnest Island which is bookable at a supplement.

Day 4 – The Indian Pacific

Get ready for a breathtaking journey as you transfer from your hotel to the Indian Pacific Train. This inspiring trip unfolds before you as you step aboard and feel the relaxation envelope you. Everything is taken care of once you're onboard, all you have to do is enjoy the ride. As the landscape passes by your window, giving you a view of Australia you can't gain in any other way, you can learn about the tailored off train experiences that await you at stops along the way. These experiences introduce you to a deeper understanding of the country and the people.

You'll also enjoy fine dining, each dish made from locally sourced ingredients and showcasing the best the culinary region has to offer, plus fine wines and other drinks of your choice, all included in your onboard experience.

Board the Indian Pacific and enjoy a relaxing trip, the rhythm of the train lulling you, as you head through the pretty Avon Valley. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the Outback Explorer Lounge with fellow travellers, and look forward to your late-night arrival into the township of Kalgoorlie, famous for gold mining, where you have the opportunity to enjoy your first off train experience.

As you wake up to a spectacular Nullarbor morning, you'll take in the outback views before visiting the extraordinary and slightly eerie ghost town of Cook. Cook, once a bustling town built for railway workers, is now home to a quirky population of just four people. Travel back in town as you wander the streets and catch a glimpse of what life was like for pioneering Australians.

Day 6 - Adelaide

Adelaide

One glance out of your window this morning, and you'll see the change in the landscape before your eyes. Rich rust coloured sands give way to lush forests and farmlands, signalling your near arrival into Adelaide. Here you'll find a range of off train experiences are on offer, from a behind-the-scenes tour of Adelaide Oval, to seeing the highlights of the city on foot or by coach. After experiencing the delights of the South Australian capital, return to the Indian Pacific to continue your journey towards Sydney.

The Blue Mountains

The full spectacle of the Blue Mountains greets you this morning as your journey makes its way towards Sydney. When you arrive into Katoomba, you can choose from numerous mountain experiences to explore this World-Heritage listed area. See the majestic Three Sisters at Echo Point and take in the views at Jamison Valley. After arriving at Sydney Central Station, you'll be transferred to your hotel to check in and make the most of this beautiful harbourside city.

Day 8 - Sydney Harbour Cruise

Prepare for a very special journey on this all-inclusive 2 ½ hour lunch cruise aboard an exclusive 78ft luxury vessel. Departing Darling Harbour, you'll cruise towards Sydney Harbour Bridge and pass the iconic Sydney cityscape and Sydney Opera House. Lunch is a long and lavish affair, including generous al la carte meals using locally sourced ingredients and regional produce. Each course is paired with wines from some of the finest wine-producing regions in New South Wales.

Spend a second night in your hotel, before enjoying your free day in Sydney. Discover the city at your leisure and explore at your own pace, or choose one of our optional excursions. Take a small group Panoramic City Tour, a tour of the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground, or a tour of the city's unmistakable Opera House, which are bookable at a supplement.

Inbound Travel

Days 10-11 - Sydney to London

As your incredible journey comes to a close, you'll transfer from your hotel to Sydney Airport for your flight back to London. Alternatively, extend your holiday by staying another night in Sydney and choosing either to take in Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, or Uluru and the Red Centre which are bookable at a supplement.
